Thank You Letters A well-written thank you note is a necessity following an interview. It conveys courtesy, an appreciation of the interviewer's time, and may improve your chances of getting the job. Here are some tips for writing a thank you letter to an employer: Be brief. It is not necessary to write more than three paragraphs. Spell the interviewer's name right. A helpful way to remember the interviewer's name is to ask for a business card at the conclusion of the interview. If you are thanking multiple interviewers, obtain cards from all. If you are unable to do so, a discreet call to the interviewer's office assistant asking for a correct spelling is acceptable. Be sure that you have the correct company name and address; when you are going on multiple interviews, it is critical that you ensure that your letter is going to the appropriate employer. Restate your qualifications for the position, and your interest in it. This is another opportunity to remind the interviewer of your skills and your enthusiasm about the job. Send the thank you letter as quickly as possible. It will make a positive impact on the interviewer, and waiting for a week could mean that someone else already has the job you wanted.
