Workforce Partnership Management Group Annual Breakfast and Awards Ceremony

LA Works, and special guests come together each year to recognize the success of Employers, Partners, and Clients. On February 9 LA County Supervisor Mike Antonovich, LA County WIB Chairperson Dr. Dennis Neder, WPMG President Olin King and special Guest Speaker, Robert Knight, LA Works 04Director - ResCare Workforce Services – and Special Guests presented awards to Employers, Partners, and Clients. Employers work with LA Works Staff and Partners to provide job opportunities, economic independence and self sufficiency to Clients. This year awards were presented to American Red Cross Blood Services, California Conservations Corps, Home Performances Matters, Marshall's, Select Staffing, TJX Corporation and Warehouse Shoe Sales.


LA Works partners with numerous cities, agencies, schools, LA County departments, and individuals to mentor, provide support services, educate and offer all Clients career enhancement and education to improve their quality of life. Recognized this year were eight Partners. City of Azusa-Public Works Department; City of Covina-Parks & Recreation; City of Duarte; City of Monrovia; Mt. San Antonio College; LA County Sheriff Department; Ed J. Mihalka; and Dottie Misetic.


LA Works 01 Clients, through hard work and use of career counseling, training assistance, skills training, on-the-job training, entrepreneurial training, education and other resources provided by LA Works and Partners achieve placement in today's competitive workforce. Eleven clients were honored on at this year's breakfast.

State Senator Dr. Ed Hernandez, represented by Laura Jimenez, presented Toastmasters International Youth Leadership awards to three LA Works Youth clients. During the presentation an exciting opportunity to intern with Senator Hernandez's office was offered to a Youth Client.
