Thanksgiving Meal Giveaway

Thanks to the gracious donation of food items from Faith Community Church of West Covina, LA Works staff was able to hold the first annual “Thanksgiving Meal Giveaway” in its Career Connections Center located at 5200 Irwindale Avenue, in the City of Irwindale.

Customers received a turkey, stuffing mix, cranberry sauce, vegetables, and more in a convenient easy-to-carry package.  Faith Community Church is located at 1211 E. Badillo Street, West Covina, CA. 91790 and is ministered by Pastor Kelly who oversaw the generous donations to LA Works customers.

The LA Works WorkSource Center provides job seekers a comprehensive system of Training and Career Placement services; and to businesses a wide range of professional services including Job Placement and Training Assistance, Internet Job Postings, Recruitment Services and Videoconferencing. 

Our community services include:  Home Improvement, Transportation for Seniors and individuals with disabilities, At-Risk Youth Work Experience Programs, On-Campus College Experience for low-income high school students, Energy Conservation and Neighborhood Beautification.  LA Works was founded in 1976 as the primary public job training and placement center for residents of cities of the East San Gabriel Valley.
