LA WORKS RECOGNIZES MOUNT SAN ANTONIO COLLEGE BASIC SKILLS LAB INSTRUCTOR

Irwindale, CA -- LA Works, a WorkSource Center providing assistance to job seekers and businesses throughout the Northeastern San Gabriel Valley, recently presented a special award to Mr. Joseph Guerrero, our onsite Basic Skills Lab Instructor. Mr. Guerrero is a hard-working professional who deserves public recognition and a public “thank you” for his contributions to the LA Works partnership.

Mr. Guerrero has been assisting visitors to improve their skills for a number of years at the LA Works/Mt. Sac Basic Skills center; thus, enabling them to attain their high school diploma, general education diploma, or obtain employment. Of particular note is his dedication and hard work in preparing our at-risk youth for their GED examination and subsequent employment.



The Mt. Sac Basic Skills Lab provides self-paced, individualized instruction to help job seekers and/or students improve their skills. LA Works in partnership with Mount San Antonio College operates the Basic Skills Lab, which is open to all residents whose Basic English and/or math skills require improvement for the workplace, personal use or for future education classes. The Basic Skills Lab is a free open-entry/open-exit class. You start at your own level and progress at your own rate.

A public agency, LA Works is a WorkSource Center that provides a comprehensive system of training, placement and career planning services for job seekers throughout Southern California. LA Works also provides a wide range of professional services to businesses, including: On-the-Job Training Programs, job placement and training assistance, Internet job postings, recruitment services, videoconferencing, facility rental and consulting services.
