LA WORKS RECOGNIZES JOB SEEKERS AND EMPLOYERS AT FIFTH SUPERVISORAL DISTRICT AWARDS

Monrovia-- LA Works, a WorkSource Center providing assistance to job seekers and businesses throughout the Northeastern San Gabriel Valley, participated in the Fifth Supervisorial District Awards hosted by Supervisor Michael Antonovich.

Youth, Adult, Mature Workers, and Employers were recognized and honored at the Award Ceremony. Nominations were made by service providers located within the Fifth District. Nominees have demonstrated their ability to overcome amazing challenges, made significant gains in their careers, or made a positive contribution to their community. LA Works acknowledged various individuals who have displayed such exuberance in their lives. Individuals that were recognized received a certificate from Supervisor Antonovich.

Michael Antonovich is the Fifth District Supervisor representing Los Angeles County. Supervisor Antonovich has been a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors since 1980. Cities and Communities within the Fifth District include: Antelope Valley, North West Valley, Pasadena, San Clarita Valley, and San Gabriel Valley.

A public agency, LA Works is a WorkSource Center that provides a comprehensive system of training, placement and career planning services for job seekers throughout Southern California. LA Works also provides a wide range of professional services to businesses, including: On-the-Job Training Programs, job placement and training assistance, Internet job postings, recruitment services, videoconferencing, facility rental and consulting services. Based in Irwindale, California, and with a Mini Career Center located at the Bonita Unified School District Campus, LA Works was founded in 1976 as the primary public job training and placement center for residents of cities in the east San Gabriel Valley.
