Job seekers can receive free services by visiting the LA Works WorkSource Center. Core services such as job search and job placement assistance, basic assessment of skills and needs, and follow-up services are available. Individuals who have been laid off can get help in applying for Unemployment Insurance benefits and information on the filing of claims for unemployment compensation disability benefits. Also, valuable information on job openings, skill requirements, and labor market trends is easily accessible at our WorkSource Center or through our Web site. Eligible customers can obtain more intensive services, such as comprehensive assessments, career counseling and other services. Training assistance may be available, including skills training, on-the-job training, entrepreneurial training and adult education.
